About Senior Benefits Care Finder

Senior Benefits Care Finder is an independent publication founded and operated by Paul Paradis. We write plain-English guides to Medicare, Medicaid, Social Security, VA benefits, and senior care — not a call center, not a government agency, not a sales team.

Why This Site Exists

Senior Benefits Care Finder exists because the programs that matter most to older Americans — Medicare, Medicaid, Social Security, VA benefits, long-term care — are some of the hardest things to read about online. Official pages are accurate but dense. Agent-run sites push you toward a phone call before they answer your question. Forums give you outdated advice from strangers.

We sit in a different spot: read the primary sources, write the plain-English version, link back to the official page, and keep it current. No call center, no lead forms, no sales script.

What We Are and What We Aren't

We are a small, independent publisher of educational guides about senior benefits and care. We are not a government agency, a licensed insurance agency, a law firm, a financial planning firm, a medical practice, or an enrollment service. We don't enroll anyone in anything and we don't file paperwork on anyone's behalf.

When a question goes past general education, we say so and point readers to the right place: 1-800-MEDICARE, SSA, the VA, the State Health Insurance Assistance Program (SHIP), or the Eldercare Locator at 1-800-677-1116.

How Our Content Gets Made

One person publishes here. Paul researches, writes, and maintains the guides. The workflow is simple: start with primary sources (CMS, SSA, VA, state Medicaid agencies, the Genworth Cost of Care Survey, BLS), write the plain-English version with dated dollar figures, use AI tools to help draft and cross-check across states, and review every page before it goes live. Every claim that matters links back to the official source so readers can verify.

Independence and Disclosure

The site is supported by display ads and, in some places, affiliate links. Affiliate or sponsored links are disclosed. No advertiser pays to change what's written in a guide, and no company on the site gets editorial favors in exchange for a commercial relationship.

From the Founder

I started this site because my own family needed it. When relatives were trying to sort out Medicare, Medicaid for a parent, and a VA pension for a surviving spouse, the internet was full of glossy pages that wanted a phone number before they'd answer a question. I wrote up what I learned in plain language, and other people kept asking for the notes.

I'm not a licensed agent or attorney. What I can do is read the source material carefully, write it up honestly, link back to the original, and keep it current. If something is wrong, tell me and I'll fix it.
